How to Get Started

For existing TD Direct Investing customers

Please telephone our dedicated Active Trader team to determine if you are a candidate for this service. Note that your account will also need to be registered for WebBroker (register now).

Once you have received confirmation that the Active Trader service may be suitable for your level of trading activity and consistent with your comfort level, our team will forward you an Active Trader User Agreement for your review1

For new TD Direct Investing customers

Getting started with Active Trader is as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Please telephone our dedicated Active Trader team to determine if you are a candidate for this service.

    Once you have received confirmation that the Active Trader service may be suitable for your level of trading activity and consistent with your comfort level, our team will forward you an Active Trader User Agreement for your review1.

  2. Open a TD Direct Investing account with WebBroker access. This can be done easily through any of the following methods.

    Visit your local TD Direct Investing location.
    Find Your Branch

    Telephone us to request an application for mailing.1-800-465-5463

    Visit your local TD Canada Trust bank branch and ask for assistance.

  3. Review and return your signed Active Trader User Agreement. Once you have received confirmation of your new account number, review and complete the Active Trader User Agreement. Mail the signed original User Agreement to:
